Gorgeous venue for events and parties! The main hall is perfect for dancing and classes, great floor and space in general. Also good acoustics and sound. Some smaller rooms in the basement a nice cafe with some food options

I started learning to dance here many years ago and liked the venue. After more than a few years, I returned for an event. The hall is high ceilinged with lots of space, it keeps the room relatively cool. The floor is well sprung and looked after, possibly a little sticky but is good for many types of dance. Saw the bar but didn't use it. The venue is close to public transport and in what I think is a safe area.

Great English venue for some fantastic Scottish music, the union in operation! Enjoyed some pre-event drinks and snacks in the cafe and bar downstairs before the show. Then wondered up to enjoy a night with a couple of Scottish national treasures!

Outstanding public resource hosting and facilitating lectures, lessons, concerts, classes, exhibitions and workshops pertaining to English folk arts. Also hosting the Vaughn Williams Library, the national collection of folk music, a point of call for many aspiring artists including a young Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. Homely, informal and welcoming. An inexpensive destination with a earthy vibe, pleasant cafe, pub and well-maintained small gardens. Influential, inspiring and impressive.... Brobdingnagian.

Cecil Sharp is a magnificence of wood, folk history and an excellent vegan cafe. On entrance there's a library (staffed by helpful members) with anthologies of UK Folk Music(open to the public). The building is designed for performance, hence the wood and has warmth and resonance made for excellent acoustics. Food and drinks are catered for excellently, with homemade choices. The whole building chimes quality and is an important beacon for folk musicans and audiences, far and wide.
