Excellent bike shop! Had the most pleasant experience purchasing a bike from Compton Cycles. Jeff and the team spent hours talking me through all the options, allowing me to test ride all their bikes and offered truly helpful advice while freely sharing their knowledge. Quite a refreshing alternative to online shopping.. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Bought a lovely Tout Terrain touring bike from Compton Cycles. Got fantastic service from Jim and the team. I was a very fussy customer, but they stuck with me and got me the bike of my dreams - I'm still paying for it on finance! They are a very friendly family-oriented team who are bound to put a smile on people's faces. So much better to go to these small bike shops than the big chains.

top guys helpful staff went all the way to sort my bike on time could not fault their aftercare either test rode a bike before I made my mind up lots in stock genuinely a real bike shop staffed by real humans that's why I drove miles out of my way past numerous other alleged retailers and bought off these guys

Depends on who you get. First time I went they were really helpful and did a quick 2 minute job I wasn't able to do at home, and then sold me the part for me to assemble when I got home. Since then I've been recommending the shop to all my friends. Last time I went, however, I'd misdiagnosed the problem myself and the guy jumped on it to try sell me a few parts and labour. I bought one part but not the labour, which he heavily dissuaded me against. Took my bike home and it was a lot easier to resolve than he'd made out, and I didn't even need the part he sold me. Took part back for refund, but felt a bit conned. Not what Local Friendly Bike Shops are about. I've seen other reviews on here with similar experience of being oversold and imagine the response will be that they want all bikes to leave the shop in a \safe condition\. Not all issues need a new part to fix them, and not all bikes without brand new parts are unsafe. I'll still go there as it's a decent shop but thought it worth leaving a review so others are vigilant about being oversold to. Shame really as I thought I'd found a gem from my first experience.
