I am shocked by the negative comments. Honestly, I can’t imagine how a college can be better than DLD. Every single staff member is extremely friendly and caring. The tutors are highly professional in their fields and constantly help and support students. Students are seen as individuals here, there is a vast focus on wellbeing. From my experience, the staff does everything that is required for a student to improve and achieve its goals. With around 30 co-curricular activities, vast array of trips and events, top quality boarding accommodation and outstanding food services, I genuinely don’t know what else a student can ask for.

I joined DLD in 2016, and could not be more grateful for all the opportunities it provided me with. The standard of education is really high, considering the fact that teachers have to deal with language barriers while teaching international students. I would especially recommend applying to the AlphaScholars programme that enriched me both academically and personally, as well as it developed my leadership skills. The Boarding House is exceptional in terms of location and convenience provided on site. Modern facilities, clean and tidy accommodation, and welcoming Houseparents that constantly look after my wellbeing. Professional academic team has successfully helped me to apply not only to the UK universities, but also to the US. To confirm, the amount of opportunities this college provides are endless.

NEVER COME HERE!!!!! i studied here for a year, left because of how horrible this place is. First of all, most teachers are unprofessional and do not know how to interact with students and basically cannot teach their subject! I nearly failed maths because of the teacher who couldn’t even remember my name and constantly said how bad i am. However, the most horrible thing in DLD is the houseparents and some other staff. They continuously disrespect and mistreats boarders/students for the smallest things ever. They are not helpful; think they have the rights to control every single action of students; constantly raise their voices. The college itself is very unprofessional! Elevators can be broken for up to 3 weeks and students have to wait for them for sometimes 45 minutes!! THERE ARE NO STAIRS. Student ID cards are also constantly not working and as we used them to register into lessons, our attendance suffered. Although it is not our fault that cards arent functioning, teachers still put the whole responsibility on us! Food is simply BAD! It’s high in fats and does NOT taste good. Limited choice for dietary preferences and allergics. It truly tastes disgusting so students always have to order food which is wasting even more money. Boarding rooms are not cleaned well and most of the times the cleaners just push all the dirt under the tables in the rooms.

This is an excellent college, the staff really care about students wellbeing and academic achievement. It offers individual mentoring, an Alpha Scholars programme and has a good system for developing leadership amongst young people . Also a fantastic location on the Southbank.
