This is a hidden gem for me that I drove past so many times before. I only come here now to get a wash and cut and occasionally a blow dry. The hairdressers are fast but great and their prices a super competitive. I think if you pay by cash it’s even cheaper but please check this with them when booking. Unless they close down I’ll be coming here in the future..!
I have been going to Equipe for the last seven or so years. I only go when I don’t have to rush and then I’m relaxed and the hairdresser doesn’t feel stressed. Jaffa does a fantastic job with the highlights. And the lady at the desk is very friendly and helpful. It’s better to ask for an appointment on less busy days but that’s just because it’s so much more pleasant for everyone.
I Have been visiting for over 1 year now. Fantastic value for money whilst also being friendly and efficient. Highly recommend
I have never gone out of my way or taken the trouble to write a review in my life. DO NOT GO HERE, the stylist ruined my long hair, it has looked awful since --\u003e destroyed the curls I used to have. It is so much better to pay a little bit more and get good quality service.
Would not recommend at all. I used to like the good value haircuts but recently I've been disappointed by the unprofessional service. I don't think the hairdresser really understood what I wanted, I asked him to even out the length of the front and back, and to add some layers, just enough for it not to be a totally straight cut. He asked how much shorter the layers should be and showed me about 2cm with his fingers, which I agreed to. He cut the layers way more harshly than that, when I politely pointed this out he just said quite arrogantly 'that's how layers are', and rudely refused to even it out. No apology. I measured the layers when I got home, the shortest sections were 8cm shorter, not 2cm. The length was almost unchanged and the back was also still noticeably longer than the front, the very problems I'd gone to the hairdressers to sort out before an important interview. I was very upset and was forced to cut some of it myself to even it out. My mum had the same problem with that hairdresser, he just added unwanted harsh layers instead of cutting the overall length as requested. The hairdresser also kept having a go at me, repeatedly telling me that I shouldn't bleach my hair, even though I was only there for a haircut and was perfectly happy with my colour. He said that instead of using bleach I should come to the salon if I wanted to be blonde - as someone who used to study chemistry I would be interested in knowing how he planned to lighten my hair 7 levels without bleach. Having come here several times in the past I can also say that the staff are temperamental and can either be friendly and polite or moody and insolent - very hit or miss. Won't be coming back.
I have never had such a terrible experience at a salon in all my life. I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but I really feel that this has to be shared. The fact that I left the salon looking like a cross between Ed Sheeran and Donald Trump (I’m a woman!) is, perhaps surprisingly, not the main reason for the bad review. The stylist seemed to be a nice guy and I understand that we all have off days. And hey, it’s only hair, not life or death. The reason for this bad review is because of the appalling attitude the manager displayed when I asked for a refund. He offered only a percentage of the (huge) amount I paid, which I did not think was fair and when challenged, became rude, aggressive and thoroughly unprofessional. I finally accepted the offer (I just didn’t want to waste any more time arguing about it), whereupon he childishly took a further chunk off saying I should have accepted the first offer when I had the chance. Having read reviews of the other salons in the group (of which he is also the manager), I see that I’m not the only one to have experienced this quite extraordinary behaviour. Avoid. Please!
Always a great experience. Friendly, welcoming and lovely staff especially Gokan, Gaby and the lady on reception.
