These are a local company to me so I try to do my bit for local businesses. Spotted a beautiful coat in the window and was really reasonably priced. A week or so after buying (and this was now into lockdown no.2) the seam at the back became unstitched. I got in touch on Instagram and they returned my message within 24hours offering repair, refund or replacement - my choice. I went with repair which they organised within the week and I have my lovely coat back and am proudly wearing it! It’s sad to see so many bad reviews for FC as I can only say good things about them.

I believe that the products in this store are advertised in a misleading fashion. Some of the brands are ethical (people tree) but most are not. The cheap shoes are most certainly not produced ethically and are not vegan due to the glue used. The same shoes are also sold at my local market for a fraction of the price, as they probably are at most markets/discount retailers who also ship products in from china and other such countries with horrific human rights violations. I feel this store is just another depressing example of 'green washing' and even if I was convinced of the ethical claims, I am unsure I would purchase anything now I have seen the reviews others have given regarding customer service. Very disappointing indeed.

The online aspect of this business doesn't have reliable customer service, so pay by PayPal where you can get refunded if need be for an out for stock item. After some chasing, and raising with Paypal, I was able to get a refund. It's a lovely shop showcasing ethical brands. However, I do not recommend the online aspect of this business, as unfortunately the (admirable) ethical focus on the products does not seem to extend to service with its online customers.

Just been in this shop and whilst they are definitely selling some eco-friendly/ethical clothing in the form of People Tree, I also spotted a Marks & Spencer skirt with the label (badly) cut out, a new tag saying “Exclusively for Fashion-Conscience”, marked UP to 55. Ironic given there are signs around the shop lambasting people with “shame” for stealing.

The merchandise is unique and beautiful. The sales assistant was really helpful. I had problems with a refund via PayPal and it was resolved the day it was brought to the managers notice. If you are looking for something ethical, beautiful and unusual shop here.
