My family are all from the island, I’m very proud to say my grandad Denny Lowther played the piano in every pub on the island at some point during his younger years, my grandad is now 92 years old and still has new stories to tell me every time I see him. I will be uploading some videos of him playing his piano and telling his stories on to U tube very soon .

The community centre is now home for our group and from where we celebrate and share the Islands industrial history. We also volunteer within the community today, and wish to continue to record the ongoing history of this unique place in East London!
