I got a pair of glasses a year ago and they broke due to the screw being old. I had to pay 35 to replace the screw. When I came to collect them I felt very dizzy but I thought I was struggling to readjust. After a day of headache I came back to the shop and turns out they mixed up the left and right lens! I also noticed that the lenses coating was very damaged and was told it came from extreme weather. I have only been around UK and France since I got the glasses, so I am not sure what happened there. My 7 year-old specs have travelled around the world and are still in much better condition. I was offered to replace the lenses for half price but I do not expect lenses to be replaced every year.. especially since I had paid an extra for blue light and thinner lenses. I found the customer service disappointing and not very professional. I also feel like the quality is not great, the pair broke apart after a year and the lenses aged very badly. They have an amazing selection of frames but I would not recommend if you are looking for glasses to wear on a daily basis.

Walked in yesterday to get a pair of glasses at 2:30 pm 11/7 Staff did not acknowledge my presence, were eating noodles behind the payment desk (sloppily - one dropped some on his lap) and watching something on their laptops. Of 4 staff not one glanced in my direction. The glasses were in drawers and cabinets - I could not access. I said ‘excuse me’ to give the staff the benefit of the doubt but again, one glanced up from his noodles and back to his laptop. I was prepared to make a significant purchase but will not be back after poor customer service - it seems unless you fit the indie stereotype/are bringing them noodles/the staff are not prepared to give you any business. Will not be recommending or visiting again.

***UPDATE BELOW*** 4/9/2020 My 2nd time buying frames from them. First time I bought some custom specs, and a pair of sunnies. The customer service and experience was phenomenonal. This time around, buying has been a nightmare as they don't even respond to social media messages (seen), or my emails. Before handing over payment their replies were exceptionally fast, but since receiving money they've barely responded. In my opinion it's really poor customer service, it's easier to retain customers than find new ones. I've been waiting for 3 months now. I've asked for a refund, still no reply. I'll keep you posted on the outcome. Denny __________________________________________________________________ ***UPDATE HERE*** I was contacted by their frame maker personally to speed up the process of my frames. I was offered a refund at half the cost, but they also offered a complimentary pair of bespoke glasses too. It was a no brainer - I'm obviously going to choose the latter and another pair of glasses. The first time I bought from GE was because of the craftsmanship of their glasses. I've had loads of specialty brands of glasses (Moscot, Warby Parker, Persol, Tom Ford, Oliver Peoples, and even Oliver Goldsmith) but nothing compare to GE in my opinion. I wore my frames from GE the day of receiving them on a daily basis and they lasted for a good 5-6 year, the only reason they broke was because of an unexpected flying object flying into my face! Anyhow, I received my two pairs of bespoke glasses and it really reminded me of how well made these frames are. Thank you GE for work on these, I know we had our difficulties - but I will buy from you again. Shout out to Akio. Denny 4/9/2020
