Let me start by saying I am a vintage and antique diamond ring dealer working alone and online only as a public limited company. I have used a handful of jewellers to undertake various repairs to rings that have arrived from auctions with worn settings shanks and stones missing and had both good and terrible results with those experiences. An Art Deco ring came to me with a worn setting at the bottom which happened to be filigree so quite niche. I was devastated as based on my past experiences I expected this to cost me hundreds of pounds if the jewellers would even agree to work with it at all. I got a few quotes and one was in the hundreds (As I suspected) and then Nick from Jewelworks quoted me a price for a fraction of the other quotes. And true to his word once he had the ring in his workshop he emailed me to confirm the provisional quote. The difference between those two quotes was amazing and alarming. I sent him another bezel set diamond solitaire soon after that had a patch of platinum worn away around the diamonds girdle. He telephoned me and said to avoid damaging the diamond it would be safer to take the diamond out and reset it then build the platinum setting as a whole as it was very thin and again he did that for a fraction of the price I was expecting based on previous jobs done elsewhere. ... In all honesty finding Jewelworks is a "game changer" for me I can now get my rings repaired without handing over most if not all of the profit I would have made once the ring sold to a jewellers to repair ready for sale. The company is honest to a T - transparent in their quotes and communication and totally trustworthy. Communication is brilliant too. When you read reviews online in particular negative ones, you always have to remember there are two sides to every story and a review is only one side. I thank my lucky stars to have found this company!
Really disappointed with their service, they've had my bangle for 2 months and didn't bother repairing it and ended up charging me 90 for something they didn't repair - I will get the money back as they eventually admitted they hadn't done anything. Really disappointed as Nick the owner seemed like a nice chap but either they're too busy and out of control or they don't k ow what they're doing - I assume it's the former as they wouldn't last very long if they didn't know what they were doing !!
The stone from my mother's engagement ring kept falling out. I visited various firms to get quotes and solutions to the problem. Jewelworks came up with the best idea, a long term solution which did not impair the design of the ring, and did a fabulous job at a very reasonable price. Since then I have always gone back to them for any jewellery repairs and never been disappointed.
I've been trying for months to get in contact with the staff here for them to reimburse me for money that they owe me for the VAT refund. I've had nothing but broken promises and radio silence. This has been an ongoing issue for 6 months. I trusted their word and feel like they have been dishonourable and now ignoring all communications. I'll keep persisting but be warned! I've also had another friend who has experienced something very similar with this same company.
I 've had two pieces made with Jewel works. Superb...I'm very happy with both pieces. No fuss just damn fine jewelry. I will be back....they are exceptional.
