Tall building in Canary Wharf
Its a lovely building at a great location. But working at JP Morgan is really awful. Especially if its in Operations in one of the project teams. It has a really bad toxic cut throat culture, everybody has an ego at this place. The number of narcissists and sociopaths is astounding. There are teams literally at war with each other. So many useless people trying to hide the fact they are not very good, so they can get their bonus at the end of the year. They are all terrified of getting the sack. Good people leave because the culture is horrendous. Too many inexperienced people get promoted to VP level which they do not deserve. Also the dense hierarchy means everybody ends as a VP reporting to another VP. Its absurd. Most of the VP's think they are mini-CEO's. The power trip goes to their head. Then you get young interns joining the firm, and they start to think the bad behavior they see around them is the way to act in the workplace. The culture just gets worse and worse. Avoid if you are a contractor, especially if you have the misfortune to end up with Resource Solutions, who are also pretty rubbish. They will screw you over worse than JP.
