EDIT: Ordered a sharpening with Katto and I am now very satisfied by the knife sharpness - it's cutting like crazy, although it doesn't match some of my knives, it makes a very good day to day knife. __________ I purchased a 6” Henry Utility knife a couple of weeks ago, motivated by its elegant design and my wish to expend my Japanese knife collection. I was super pleased with my Henry style when opening the parcel. It was indeed even more beautiful than on the website photos. On the other hand, the cutting experience didn’t match my expectations. The blade is also quite blunt and has difficulties shearing a cherry tomato - you will have to apply some force and squish your tomato before it starts cutting.
I have brought the Olivia knife for a 21st Birthday gift for a young man who loves cooking. I am delighted with the service received by the company. It came beautifully wrapped, the leather shield for the knife is on point and the knife blade itself, looks brilliant. The wooden handle is elegant and modern. I am so pleased and happy to recommend Katto. It was also a very quick service.
Great knives, really impressed with the service and delivery. Very good appearance and packaging. The 8 inch Chefs knife ,was very sharp and well balanced , not the best for chopping ,but excellent for cutting. The 5 inch, needed honing on my steel, but once honed it worked very well, the knives feel hand made and are a pleasure to use. They both feel like individual unique knives and I look forward to using them. Dave Mcdonald
Ordered my new cutting board from Katto. I was pleased to see extra kitchen towel with a beautiful design and lovely attention to detail in the packaging (loved the little usage note). All in all I'm very pleased and I can't wait to cook some more dishes using this beautiful chopping board!
Great quality knife. The design is beautiful, the sharpness is everything I'd expect from a high quality knife. I'm nit-picking for flaws, but when comparing against my Japanese set, the weighting of the blade is not balanced well given that it has a very light wooden handle, reducing the control. Ultimately, a good upgrade-knife for any enthusiast.
The knife itself is beautiful. My only disappointment was the sharpness of the knife wasn’t at the standard I thought it would be
I was gifted a Katto 8.5" chef's knife for Christmas 2020 and absolutely love it. Unfortunately, the blade in mine became a little loose inside the handle so I got in touch with the team and to my delight the knife was replaced no questions asked. Really great customer service from the Katto team and the knives are of upmost quality and craftsmanship - I suspect mine to be a one-off issue. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again and I hope to complete the set with the Santoku and the Utility some day. Cheers guys!
