I’ve attended beginners course 2 years ago and Katie’s enthusiasm and professionalism has encouraged me to start learning. I have now attended online advanced course which has been a great step up and Katie has again shared some tips how to improve practice with new kit including new materials. Couldn’t recommend more!

I absolutely love the workshops provided by London Calligraphy. Katie, who runs it, is always patient and helpful, she provides a great pack of useful information, plus you get to take away the paper, the writing or brush utensils and ink away! It's absolutely ideal for beginners! The workshops are always held in charming locations (I was in Wilton's Music Hall and Saucer and Spritz). The are small classes, so everyone gets some 1-in-1 attention, with drinks and delicious snacks provided. Katie also provides for those with dietary requirements. The classes are instructive, relaxing and once you've warmed up, it's just long enough to see how you're improving and makes you eager to go home and practise. I've taken 2 of London Calligraphy workshops (the pointed pen one and the brush one) and look forward to doing more in the future. I'm so glad its enabled my to have such a fulfilling hobby! I cannot recommend this more

A great way to spend a productive (and fun) couple of hours during lockdown. Having done a little bit of amateur research, I'd had a very good feeling in advance about this particular online course for beginners in modern calligraphy. All very relaxed at the same time as being highly instructive and well-structured. Along the way, Katie proved more than generous with her time, encouragement and explanations. Her own flair and expertise very much in evidence - but not in the slightest way intimidating. To the contrary: her you-too-can-do-this-with-practice approach made me think - and not for the first time - that I should've taken the course long ago. But it's never too late. Is it?.

Online beginners class was amazing, highly recommend! I've been interested in calligraphy for ages, bought pens and inks and books over the years but never managed to get the hang of it. But Katie of London Calligraphy made all the difference in the world - from the beautiful box of quality essentials and welcome treats that's sent ahead of time, to the helpful personal attention given during the 2-hr session. I finally feel like I know what I'm doing. Will definitely stick with it this time. The person who recommended this class to me did beautiful notecards at our kids' school!
