So thankful for the help and assistance given by the Southwestern railway lost property office staff. They found my laptop and had tried to contact me to no avail. By chance I was in London and physically went into the office. So pleased I did as the laptop was there. No alert on the MissingX website though, so wonder if that ever actually works? Best to visit the office at Waterloo station.

I wish there was an option to give no stars. This service in general, not even the lost property department, is absolutely awful. My phone has been lost for two weeks now. Knowing it was at the lost property in London waterloo (due to find my I phone) I had decided to go down there after receiving no emails from missing x. After travelling 2:30 hours to get there I was met with lazy staff at the ticket office eating and chatting away, after being sent there by several members of staff wondering around the station. The lady just threw me a leaflet after 10 mins of waiting and her just sitting out the back making it out as if though she's doing some work. Not to mention the only reason I went to the ticket office also was because the lost property closed 10 mins earlier than they were supposed too. Overall I was sent in circles for about 1:30 hours being told the same things over and over again, 'go there, go here'. 'Eventually I spoke to a manager who was just as helpful, 'Wait for an email from SWR'. I assumed he meant missing x, even then after reading some of the reviews cautious of if it was even worth bothering with that website, a couple reviews say that there item wasn't even registered on the website so they had to go in, but even that did not work. What if items don't get registered ? no advice on what to do then. So even if you items do get handed in there is no guarantee you will get them back. And please I warn you, if you have lost an item of yours make sure you are willing to put up a fight to get it, because you're going to need to for them to actually do something. I have decided to get a new phone due to all the hassle caused (This isn't even half the story) Its safe to say I'll be warning everyone about this service.

My son left his suitcase on the train (as you do!) right as lockdown started. So the SWT Lost Property office has obviously been closed for all this time. He registered it with them on line but we assumed it was gone forever.. Yesterday he received an email saying they had it. So, collected today and very happy with the service..

Great they have found my sons school bag and it’s in lost property. Then covid 19 happened and it’s been closed since....nit sure the reason why it’s taking so long to reopen. Even flipping TKMax is open now!

They NEVER pick up the phone. I called them 2 days a week for a month and they pick up like 1 out of 10-15 calls. They don't answer to missingx emails either. But the worst is that they have the same model and colour of backpack, found on the same day I lost it, on the same line, and they wouldn't even look at it whether it's mine.
