Southwark Underground Station ( Jubilee line) in S.E.1. is very convenient stop -off point to travel northbound into the City from the South bank of the River Thames. Bus stop available outside the station . Plus a good view point over the River Thames, to be seen are The Shard ( Scoresby Street, Blackfriars Road, outside the station view to the East, and the City skyline by Doggett's Coat and Badge Inn on Blackfriars Bridge.

The River Thames, is a river that flows through southern England including London. At 215 miles, it is the longest river entirely in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom, after the River Severn. It flows through Oxford, Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Windsor.

A beautiful and multi-award-wining building with glass roof and one of few stations with platform-screen doors for safety, as it can become jam-packed. However, there are lots to see and enjoy around at walking distances: Old Vic, Borough Market, National Gallery, London Eye, Parliament, Saint James’s Park, Churchill Rooms and more…!

Underused at certain day hours which makes it nice to use and architecture is excellent.

Tl;dr make a weekly pilgrimage here. Seriously. Winner of the 2000 Sky Best Building Award, situated in Zone 1, in between two bustling London termini, with an Out of Station Interchange with a third, Southwark Station is seriously impressive. Outside of the regular service patterns, which are frequent and fast in and of themselves, the architecture is remarkable. Enclosures in an open space masquerading as escalators provide perfect opportunity to bombard passengers with advertising a la Oxford Circus. But not here. Fantastic station.
