I've lived in London for five years and always lamented the fact that despite the great restaurants, nowhere does good manoushe... But this morning I stumbled across Zeit w Zaatar by accident. I'm over the moon. The manoushe is crisp, the Zaatar khodra excellent and akawi is just like home. They were made in an actual furnace so I had three in a row, how could I not? For someone who will happily eat manoushe for breakfast almost every day when in Beirut this is that rare thing - a Lebanese manoushe in London you can tell your friends about. It's got the charm of a street shop in Beirut, with its music, clientele and boisterous warm owner greeting you like it's your place when you walk in. The counter offers la7me ba3jeen, falafel and other baked Lebanese gems. Rarely do London days start off so good.

I got kicked out of this restaurant and the guy wouldn't tell me why. I am very confused. I came in politely said hi to him and before taking a seat. I did not make an order immediately because I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Suddenly the chubby guy with the beard told me to leave very aggressively like I felt he was going to physically attack me. Never seen anything like that before. Whether he was mistaking me for someone else or it is to do with racism I don't know.

This place is a real gem! The guy behind the counter was really helpful, service was timely, but best of all was the food! I had the falafal wrap, by far the best and freshest lebanese food I have ever had. Will be visiting every time i get a chance!
