Went a run here today and spoke to one of the workers. Managed to get in the side between the wooden and metal fence at back of castle and walked round front and had look in but not to far incase the ground was unsteady etc. Castle ruins are absolutely gorgeous but sadly only one of the amusements remain and rest have been sold on to other theme parks.

I wish they would allow public access to the ruins. It’s a wasted opportunity for wedding photography amongst other things. To get here you must circumvent the main gate at the road (on the left, easy enough) and walk straight up the road. There are signs everywhere forbidding entry, although I hope that’s more to do with the ruins of the theme park. This could be a beautiful attraction locally and it has been left to ruin as long as I’ve been alive, 36 years. Such a shame. Would’ve liked to walk all round taking pics but unsure of the privacy of the house to the right of the castle.
Its private. The neighbours aren't friendly. Its very beautiful also creepy.
Went here at the weekend to take photographs. Both the castle and remains of the theme park are so intresting, beautiful and amazing! Had a great time walking around and exploring. Walked through from the leisure center. Not once passing any signs saying to keep out private land. Fully recommend going....but do respect the land and watch out for the grumpy owner/squatters that are there!! They are not very friendly... there dogs better behaved!! Fab place!!
Visited louder castle 2-3 times every year from 1997 till it closed and both my kids loved it as well as extended family. So sad it closed.
Steven Dick What are the options i am very interested.
Used to go here with kids before Strathclyde park opened too few rides to far apart other than that was good day out
