Took the family on the Santa Special train ride. After collecting your pack lunch you visit Santa on his Grotto and away you go in a lovely carriage to a stop to collect presents from the elves before continuing your gorgeous ride through the forest. Fantastic trip for all the family and all while social distancing and cleaned for peace of mind.

Lovely experience, gr at staff. Get the bacon roll it was really yummy! We took a 1 year old and he enjoyed the experience.

We had the joy of travelling on the Santa Special this morning. The friendly staff and volunteers are very welcoming and the new procedures in place to make it as Covid safe as possible were seamless - from opening and closing the carriage doors, which made us feel more special, to collecting a magical ticket from Father Christmas himself and travelling by train to the Elves workshop to collect the gift. The gift was age appropriate and good quality, and the refreshments for the adults were gratefully received. A wonderful experience and we look forward to returning for another adventure in future.
My partner and I decided to check out the steam train experience and absolutely loved it! Perfect for families and couples, this is a great way to see the ancient forests of Dean and immerse yourself in its deep rooted history. Lasting for around 80 minutes you will get to stop off at various stations and watch them turn around the train and refill it. I would highly recommend booking a trip on this lovely steam train.
