Fantastic walk! We parked for 2 hours, and it was exactly enough to walk to the castle and back. Great views with sea view on one side and lakes with wildlife on the other.

How to I do this place justice, from a lone individual to a family or your party you will not be disappointed. So many options, can take a long walk to or from the fort. Also take a local ferry which in itself is a pleasure :) whatever the weather you can take some quality pictures and will soak up history or the landscape. Would recommend allowing a whole day for the site it not minimum of several hours. So wear suitable clothing and accessories for an outdoor environment. Bring a camera or two if want to make the most of the views ;) again I would certainly recommend this site even if seemingly out of the way to reach! You will be most grateful for your time and consideration. The staff endeavour to meet everyone to the highest quality and service. Keep up the good work :)

Fantastic day out ! The castle is very interesting to look around, 5.50 for an adult entry , Although the walk along the spit is a very hard and long walk ! Over rough terrain You will also need a good level of fitness to climb the various steps within the castle (You’ve been warned) Although there is a ferry service making it easier to get to and from the castle .. Be aware that the road leading down to the castle floods at high tides , so it’s NOT recommended to park your car on that road ! You will need wellies to get back to it if you’re not careful !, please see my pics for the flooded road, you can see the edge marked out by large rocks and the double yellow lines are under water !!! it’s a good idea to park in the carpark up the road pay and display 2.40 for 2 hrs this carpark has rather small parking spaces but it does have public toilets

Great place for a trip. Long walk to get to the Castle, but views around are worth it. Good shoes are must. Other way to get there is a small boat going regularly from the Keyhaven marina. Castle worth visiting, loads history to discover. Tickets are in very reasonable price. This place is also on the English Heritage listing for all members to enter for free.

Great location and views. If ferry not operating you have to walk along the shingle causeway - maybe 30 minutes. The Castle (more like a fort) is interesting but was closed when we went due to Covid.
