The Gun had just reopened when we visited. What a lovely pub! Gorgeous staff and a really very lovely beer garden. Try the Chase Marmelade G&T with their homemade candied orange peel.. Yummy!

Absolutely delicious! Had a crab baguette with chips! Misses had pulled pork and chips! The best pulled pork sandwich I've ever eaten and I've eaten American! Not expensive, parking available just across the road from the pub, disabled friendly and access to the front door very easily obtained! Will be coming back again soon! Yum yum! 5*

Modernised. What was a lovely traditional pub full of history and artifacts has now been turned into modern bar. I'm torn between liking the renovation and missing the all the fascinating items that were all over the walls and ceiling, everywhere you looked was something with a story behind it. I really liked the new outdoor space, with a large open sided upscale marquee and flame heaters. Food was really good. Staff really friendly.

Excellent pub - organised and very Covid-secure; lots of space and plenty of tables inside and out; easy to order and rapid service; very helpful staff who thoroughly cleaned the tables down when people left; lovely beer and ice cold soft drinks; children-friendly and lots of families relaxing; brilliant menu including local crab. All in all, a fantastic pub and should be top of your list if you’re in the area!

Absolutely delicious! The most incredible sourdough focaccia you will ever eat. All the food is local and homemade. You could sit for hours nibbling your way through the menu. Lovely staff and it's certainly worth the slightly higher cost for the quality.

Looks very nice inside. The outside Tent was open all sides with some nice looking heaters in the middle of it which gave out such little heat ! We were at a table about 1.5 metres from the heaters. We were absolutely frozen ! My Husband fortunately had 2 blankets in the car which he collected which helped a little . The Gun had done its best as nobody knows what the weather holds ! More efficient heaters would be appreciated , by the guests I’m sure The starters were very nice but the main courseswere very bland . The banger was average the burger was dry and very unexciting and my Lamb chop was nearly all bone. Which should have more with it anyway for the price . Where on earth did you get those chops from? Normally we would have complained but we were too cold to care by then . We also give good & excellent reviews if it’s deserved but this was definitely not I’m sorry to say . The New Owner management were very charming when we arrived But if you’re going to charge those prices the food should be very much better . Very, very disappointed . A very local Resident !

New management and a major make over to the venue is the change that was needed and has happened - no longer a venue where you had to buy the bar staff a drink to get a smile and a semi decent level of service but a slick and professional team. Well done!
