Every time we are in Rye we book a table here. Everything from the service to the food is spot on and we can't recommend the Mahdi Lounge highly enough. Popular with locals and tourists alike, we recommend you book just to be on the safe side. Just one tip, make sure you call the lounge and not the Mahdi Spice, the take away, as it can cause confusion.

Possibly best curry I've had. Poppadoms thin with range of v tasty sauces etc. The fish curry was lovely & naan veg full of flavour but not greasy at all. I flagged to the staff that they missed a couple of drinks off the bill & the (v polite & friendly) waiter immediately said it was their mistake, so on the house. Honestly can't recommend highly enough!
Great curry, great service, great restaurant. Beautifully presented dishes, given that little extra something to lift them beyond the average. Also did a great job of creating a mild version of a main dish for my 8 year old son, which still tasted delicious. Very highly recommended. Lovely food, lovely staff. All 3 courses were great and a good selection of ice cream desserts on offer as well as the traditional Gulab Jamun (which is delicious).
