I was in my 40’s, a single parent, drinking all day and everyday. I really felt so ill, and thought that it was too late to do anything about my drinking. I guess that being a social recluse, I dreaded the thought of having panic attacks if I went into a detox centre. I also hated the thought of clinical settings, and I thought that I would be shamed for how bad my drinking had become! Please believe me when I say that it is never too late to to seek help, and Bridge House was the complete opposite of my fears. I started to feel at ease very soon after arriving in the morning, it was not clinical at all, and the Oast house, and garden were just so beautiful and serene. I soon realised that detox was a truly holistic experience, I felt calm, cared for, and I actually learned so much from the other clients. The staff at Bridge House are real people, they understood me, helped me look at the possibilities of a future, and I began to feel my spirituality returning. I regard Bridge House as the place that turned my life around, and I will always hold it, and the staff very close to my heart. Thank you so much, especially to Joe O’Rourke and John Butler. Please anyone reading this, trust what I say and learn to love yourself.

I am so lucky and so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to have found Bridge House in Maidstone. I Was in sheer despair and running out of hope on the verge of giving up on everyone and everything, alcohol devil had his firm grip on me. This place has given me back hope and strength along with the tools to battle my disease and start a more fresh healthy more positive life. Every day and every session I learnt more about myself and the illness and how to cope and deal with my illness. The team, from management, nurses and support workers through to the chefs and house keepers they all made me feel welcome and give their all amazing staff so reassuring friendly and supportive. I have never laughed and had so much fun sober in a long long time. Would not be here if wasn't for the help I recieved here in bridge house, its so homely and comfortable environment to stay in not like I imagined the food is amazing fresh home cooked and given a variety of choice. I am extremely grateful to been given an opportunity to change thank you all very very much!!! Highly recommend to anyone out there who is suffering and in need of help x

I have been an alcoholic for 20 years and have exceped the fact that I am killing myself. I finally found the courage to take the first step and get help. I was referred to Bridge House by forward trust and was feeling very focused and positive. I was very anxious on the journey to Bridge House but upon arrival i was greeted by the kindest reassuring people I have I have ever met. It is a very homely living place for men and women and the staff are amazing . JOE and John and all the team have been so helpful with my detox and have taught me so much a about my addiction. I have learnt so much I never understood in the passed and I've even learnt a lot more about myself. Anyone who is suffering with any addiction I urge you to take the first step like I did and come to Bridge House, I guarantee you won't regret it, I would move in if I could lol . I am so grateful for being given this opportunity and am determined to carry on with my aftercare and recovery. Love you guys and thanks again xxxx
