These are the facts of what happened to us. We had concerns about the foundations of our house and whether it would be suitable for a loft conversion and we raised these concerns in our first meeting with Simon. He inspected the house and took measurement and seemed to think we had nothing to worry about. After spending thousands on drawings, planning permission and a structure engineer, we found out when we employed the builders that the structure would not support a loft conversion, without underpinning the property! This put the build beyond our budget and all this could have been avoided if we had not employed Simon Judd!! It seems that the structure engineer that Simon employed (Ray Rhodes Associates) does not assess whether the house foundations can support the extra weight just what is needed to support the structure of the loft conversion! Maybe we were a little naive and should have got the foundations checked before we embarked on the project. Please don't make the same mistakes we did.
