Offer many things electrical. Usually only use this place to buy things last minute such as audio connectors and repair items. Wouldn't reccomend buying only from here, shopping around is advised. Staff are very friendly though and don't bother you too much if you are just browsing. Quality of products are usually pretty good but sold at a premium compared to shops like Amazon and other online retailers.

Great store. Super clean. Lady who helped me was brill. She upset me as she just sold an in box super Nintendo with star fox for cheap. Which made me cry. I would go back if I can learn to hold back the tears.
I always like a look around here as I am a bit of a geek! Find some items perhaps a little expensive, though the quality seems very good. Easy to lose time when you become enthralled with all things electronic!
It's packed full of stuff and you'll probably find they have electronic parts and accessories that you can't find elsewhere on the highstreet but it's too damn expensive for even the most basic consumables. Shop near me is always empty when I've been in probably because there a very few bargains to be had.

Needed advice and what to do about Belkin netcam that stopped working at the other end i.e. belkins' server. I really needed it to work to keep an eye on elderly relative of 91 yrs old. The helpful advice and attitude of the member of staff Lee was very heartwarming in this day and age. I ended up with a Guardzilla cam which set up in 5 minutes very easily. Thanks Lee You ( and your colleague) are a credit to Maplin.
Once upon a time Maplin was a mighty force in the electronic hobbyist market. Predominantly mail-order, they designed and sold some kits that were famous (the maplin electronic organ) and they had the cheapest and wildest selection of transistors. I can remember being extremely excited about Maplins opening high street stores. The first one i visited being Manchester Oxford Road, and it didnt disappoint. All of the items that adorned the pages of the two inch thick catalogue, were now displayed in front of me - nirvana. Fast forward a few years, and a few changes of ownership coupled with the closing of Tandy high street stores and Maplins begins to focus on selling cheap Chinese tat to unsuspecting punters. Maplin appear to be hell bent on opening more stores, however the foot fall in the stores appears to be relatively low. Another great British store that has become a commodity for the captial investment companies that just want to rinse out a profit.
