Played it today after a long winter lay off ,and I was amazed how few golfers were out on the course enjoying the sunshine, until that is we played the course My golf buddy and I are late middle aged and so a buggy is normally the order for us ,but sadly none available even though the course was very dry ,and the worst part and total tragedy of such a potentially great course are the greens ,well there was no grass on them ,not even one on the whole course ,just mud and miss ,now I'm not the greatest at putting by a long way ,but tbh neither of us could putt on them all day ,apart from two or three bunkers being gur,and the lack of grass on the greens the course plays well ,please don't spend your money here unless you can play on miss and mud ,am shocked as it was a fine course last time I played it with buggies too

Played in a gale so hard to judge the course as the yardages went out the window!!However the condition of the course was excellent for the time of year. Teeing ground good, fairways and around the greens also good. And to top it off the greens were true although tricky with subtle borrows but fair!!All this for 15.Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to play again on a calmer day

I am by no means a good golfer. Average at best. Can hit the ball long and straight maybe 4 holes out of 18. But I just enjoy playing golf. However, for the first time in my life, I walked off after 9 holes. In fact, I didn’t even finish the 9th. The condition of this course was absolutely appalling. There was more grass in many of the bunkers than there was on most of the greens. Fairways were average, but the bunkers and greens were simply shocking. If the price was right, I could almost forgive the course being a bit run down. But it’s 20 for 18 holes! I’d have genuinely felt aggrieved paying half that for the condition the course was in, but I wouldn’t have felt compelled to write a review. The greens surely can’t have been seeded for years, nor the bunkers raked out and re-sanded. I did find myself wondering if there is a groundskeeper at all. Much wiser to head the other side of Corby to Priors Hall for 15 where the course is 300 yards longer (Stoke Albany measures less than 6000 yards off the yellow tees, so even in that respect the value for money isn’t there), and it is immeasurably better condition. The only positives were that the lady in the clubhouse/shop was very helpful and friendly, and I found more balls than I lost (4 found, 1 lost). I cannot in good conscience recommend this course, unless it undergoes a HUGE refurbishment of the playing surfaces.

Needs some attention could be a good course if the upkeep was better

Used to really like this course but it has really gone downhill. No shop, no clubhouse, bunkers are like concrete and the greens are in very poor condition, very bare and mossy. Not exactly cheap either.

Nice, clean, and new (or newly refurbished). Great course for an easy walk. Not that challenging but a good place to build confidence.

Fair course, only a couple of testing holes and a few bland ones. Good for beginners/high handicappers. Played here a few times over the years and greens can be hit and miss
