Stones is fantastic. It's at the higher end in terms of price (at least for me!) so will be for special occasions only. And it lives up to that 'special' label. Great food from the canapes to the bread to the cheese plate we shared. And the staff were lovely. I had cod cheeks, then duck, then shared cheese plate. My partner had quail and then steak. Some lovely drinks to accompany our food. Would love to go back for the six course taster menu. All in all an extremely good experience.

Fabulous food, attentive and professional yet friendly and welcoming service

Fabulously presented food bursting with flavour. Professional, efficient and attentive service. They are also very COVID 19 safe - the tables are spaced and separated, each menu wiped down and every little bit of the tables (including underneath) are cleaned, and the staff regularly seen to sanitise their hands. A wonderful evening, even the canopies and petit fours were delicious!

We ate at Stones for the first time in October last year, and booked again for May, which turned out to be in the middle of lockdown. A year after our first visit, we were finally there again last night. The food is amazing (we had the veggie tasting menu) and the staff are friendly and attentive. We couldn't ask for more - other than could you please open a restaurant in Brighton, as it's a long drive to Matlock!

Good grief. Eight courses is a lot, even on a tasting menu. But they were all so delicious I couldn't refuse anything. (The duck was the best, not pictured here because we couldn't wait!) Beautiful food in lovely combinations, plus a very kind final touch for the birthday in our party.
