Sorry to say that every product I have tried from Downland Produce has been flavourless and simply not worth the expense. That includes sauages, bacon, both back bacon and streaky, completely flavourless yet fatty. The ham is extrememly salty, apparently \oak-smoked\, which is why I bought it, yet absolutely no smoked flavour whatsoever so can't have been smoked, can it?? The fact it is thick sliced does not rectify this fundamental proiblem. The idea is nice and so are the other reviews but until some more discerning objective reviewers come forward and the products improve I shall be going back to the supermarkets whose prodcuts actually taste of smoked bacon and who sell decent tasty ham.

Wonderful traditional thick slices of bacon, tasty black pudding and sausages that are so large you almost need to carve them. Can't recommend Downland enough.
