Exceptionally managed, beautiful autumn day, picnic tables available. Atmospheric and outstanding gothic ruins in a grand setting next to the Tweed. Short walk or drive from Scott's View over Tweed Valley which has spectacular scenery.

Quiet, well organised for covid, reasonable information around ruins.

Very peaceful atmosphere and nice trees around. It is a huge site in really good condition. Would recommend visitors interested in history to visit as well if you visited Abbotsford were Walter Scott lived and you want to see his resting place.

A really nice example of a ruined Abbey and is well worth a visit if you are interested in historical buildings. Situated in pleasant grounds and surroundings and when we visited it wasn't very busy at all despite being in the summer holidays. Our visit was pre-covid.
