A very pretty little fishery with long, relatively thin lakes nestling in the natural contours of the Meon valley. Water quality is great - you can clearly see the fish to cast to in all but the very worst conditions. A #4 or #5 weight rod will cover the whole water from either bank. All of the fish that I have caught have been in excellent condition - fully finned, healthy fighters and good to eat. It has great staff that are always willing to help and a lovely lodge and office overlooking the main lake that's stocked with all the essentials you'll need. The fridge and tubular polythene bags at the lodge for your catch are an extremely useful touch - so there's no need to keep your catch in the water in a bass bag.

I received a Fly Fishing experience day as a gift at Mein Springs. It was a day if instruction and then fishing with Dave as the instructor. Very enjoyable and Dave has the patience of a saint! Great day out, something very different and have Trout to cook too.
We had an amazing time staying in the Montana Shepards Hut at Meon Springs. Lovely cosy place to stay while we fished and explored the local area. We booked in for the full day fly fishing experience led by our very pleasant and learned instructed Dave - who was very patient and had us fly fishing before Lunch. We ended up catching a fish each, which we kept, cleaned, gutted and bbqed that night at our shepards hut. There are some really nice local pubs about 45min walk from meon springs in West and East meon. Over all a great trip, will be back again.
