Fantastic views of the Merthyr Valley, and the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park. Well preserved Norman vault that is accessible after a steep climb around the 19th limestone quarry. Good food at the nearby Pant Cad Ifor Inn. Also close by, and well worth a visit is the narrow gauge Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway. Lovely local walks and trails take you through the Taff Fechan Nature Reserve; a Site of Special Scientific Interest, managed by The Woodland Trust.

The castle or whats left of it . is not worth the trek up to it, but the views are, its not an easy climb with no sinage pointing the way. Its so small I was stood on top of it, on what looked like a helipad.
Amazing views rough terrain well worth it
This place is an hidden gem and we'll worth a visit
A castle in ruins, amazing to think what could of been maybe once was. There is one chamber available to go in and have a look. Nice walk to do a loop of. Some nice views over the Welsh valleys.
There really isn't much of the castle left to see, but you can make out where some of the stuff was, fascinating bit of history nonetheless. Also incredible views from the top of the tower. If you park at the golf club, try to avoid walking on the greens as you will get told off.
The walkway to The Castle was very hard, I used the Google map, but IT can't help ME too Much. The view is beautiful, but the "castle" is stinky and there are a lot of trash. The Castle's visit easier , If U go from the Way of the Golf Club..
Lovely views overlooking Merthyr Tydfil and a great spot for a picnic. Be careful of cliffs though...
