Absolutely loved Ollie's course. The content we covered in three days was extensive with Ollie on hand the whole time providing thorough, informative information at all times. I've finished the course with a wealth of professional knowledge - without this course, it would have taken me so much longer to complete a piece of furniture. That time saving itself is worth its weight in gold! I now have loads of confidence to go it alone and push my business forward - thank you Ollie.

I had a fantastic week in September 2019 learning how to strip, prep, paint, wax, oil, stain and French polish two pieces I brought with me. I hadn’t done anything like this for about 12 years and these processes were new to me so I had lots to learn. Ollie is really nice and friendly and took me through all the steps I needed to do, and was always on hand to answer questions, share his knowledge and offer support where needed. Ollie knows a great deal about how to get the best finish and also shares which are the best products to use. It was so worthwhile doing the course and I know I could drop Ollie a message if I ever had questions in the future though his course notes are brill and I made sure to make notes and take pictures as I went along. It was totally the best thing I did for myself all year and I’ve told quite a few people at work about it :) The workshop is really calm and light and in a lovely location. I really couldn’t recommend it enough.

Very enjoyable two days in the Cotswolds! I arrived with a really old, well used, badly treated side table, and left with a lovely piece of furniture, restored and French polished by myself - a new skill I intend to make full use of in future. Great learning experience delivered by Ollie who has a knack of explaining quite complicated "stuff" in a way I could quickly understand. Looking forward to my next restoration project with OP Woodcraft!

Had a great 5 days attending the French polishing course with Ollie. The course focuses in different wood finishes with a view to re invigorate old furniture and bringing them back to life. Ollies knowledge was exceptional, and his approach meant that the course was relaxed and enjoyable. Information supplied with the course was very good and with 3 different pieces to work on various different finishing were discussed and Ollies experience in the subject meant that he had answers to any problem that was presented. A very good course well worth attending if you are interested in keeping old furniture alive.

Fantastic course by Ollie. For me, it ticked all the boxes. Ollie is extremely knowledgeable but also patient and thorough with great attention to detail. Just the sort of instructor you need on these type of courses. He is also very open and happy to share commercial advice if you are interested in making this a job/paid hobby. It was also productive, Ollie tailored the day to ensure I got my piece of furniture finished and whilst learning so much along the way. I was still learning right up until the last minute of the course, and it continues, as I have just been sent a set of comprehensive notes. On top of all that it was fun and chatting with Ollie and the other student Ben made it a great day. You can tell Ollie works hard to make his training a success and it absolutely delivers. Highly recommended.

I booked onto the introduction to French polishing course as a complete novice and not really knowing what to expect. It was an amazing day and I learnt so much from Ollie who explained everything really clearly. I took along an old oak coffee table which had definitely seen better days and the result was brilliant! I wouldn't have believed I could achieve such a great finish in such a short time. We only had time to complete the table top, with the legs and base only getting to the staining stage, so I have a challenge now to complete the piece at home, but feel totally inspired and well equipped to do so. Ollie also provides a comprehensive shopping list of what you need to carry on with at home, along with detailed notes of all the stages involved which is very useful! I would definitely recommend this course for beginners as an introduction to French polishing and furniture restoration.

This was an excellent course. I am a complete beginner but feel like I have come away with some really useful knowledge of how to start refinishing some bits of furniture! I was able to complete a small coffee table during the one day course and am so pleased with the result! Ollie was very patient and so knowledgeable. I really recommend this course!

I spent two days with Ollie, learning how to restore two pieces of (very tired) furniture, both of which are now enjoying a new lease of life. The work space is amazing, and surprisingly warm for this time of year! The atmosphere is relaxed as Ollie allows you to work at your own pace, whilst ensuring each piece of furniture is completed within the timescale. I decided to enrol on this course as I was interested to learn how to paint my own furniture to a reasonable standard. Well, I couldn't have been more pleased, as the items I completed on the course surpassed my expectations and the knowledge I have gained will definitely be put to good use. Practice makes perfect and today I bought my next piece that is need of some TLC; bring out the paint brushes! Thanks Ollie.
