I attended a 'Boot Camp' at MediCity in preparation for launching a new business start-up. The program ran over 3 days and was great preparation for our early stage planning. I met others in a similar position and found it very helpful to exchange ideas and views with like minded entrepreneurs. The course was well structured and very focussed on ensuring our idea was robust enough to become a commercial success. The team are practical in outlook and very encouraging but always ready to point out when ideas seemed to be too far fetched! We will be continuing to work with MediCity and are confident they will help us through the critical early stages to ensure we turn our idea into a business reality.

DEVELOP has been instrumental in accelerating our passage to commercialization. Since completing the programme 5 months ago, not only are we finalising commercial discussions with some of the largest companies in our chosen sectors, we have attracted huge interest from investors keen to learn more.

DEVELOP is a great programme, which I strongly recommend for everyone to try out. It is amazing what it can do to your business. You might find out that you need to pivot and change your entire business planl! It really helps to understand where to search for the right customer segment and how your business model should look like, so that it is more attractive to customers. DEVELOP business accelaration programme is something that every business owner should consider.
I attended the first MediCity Scotland Bootcamp in July 2016. It involved people from a variety of backgrounds all centred around MedTech. There was fantastic support from mentors across Scotland and beyond. The bootcamp helped frame your idea in order to challenge its validity, whilst also exchanging new ideas with other attendees. Definitely recommend it for anyone new to entrepreneurship or wishing to make an idea a reality in MedTech.
I undertook the DEVELOP programme in 2016, which is an intensive course in evidence based entrepreneurship. It incorporates elements of Lean Start Up, Strategizer methodologies (Business Model Canvas etc.) and customer discovery techniques. We were fully supported through the process of practically applying these tools. We have progressed significantly and have the Medicity team to thank. We now understand: who our target customers are; their problems; how we might reach them; what features our product must include to ensure enough customers purchase it; our barriers to industry entry and what steps we need to take to make our proposed idea a reality. Without Medicity we would not have the direction or confidence that we have today, and might have wasted much time and effort pursing a product that customers would not be willing to pay for. I thoroughly recommend Medicity to anyone embarking on their own business venture.
I found the Biocity Bootcamp to be an opportunity-centred programme which offered me an end to end visibility of my potential customer journey. Biocity cultivates a mindset which if embraced shows how to capitalize on ideas, and test viability of your product. The process was incredibly helpful as a process to enable me to properly articulate my ideas and vision. I would highly recommend this bootcamp
The DEVELOP programme provided by MedCity Scotland is very informative and well organised. Through the weekly workshop, presentation and one-to-one coaching by a Medcity tutor I learned useful knowledge and skills to determine a suitable business model for my proposed spin-out company.
