Janet has an incredible talent for breeding brilliant border collies and matching pups to the best suited farms or families based on their temperament, personality, abilities and demeanor. Our Stella is nearing 11 years old now and she has been the joy of our lives. Never have we met another border collie that is smarter or sweeter. She is an active family pet and has had no health issues to date. People who meet her often comment on how bright and soulful she is. Janet matched her to our family based on our lifestyle - not on puppy gender or color which ultimately matter so little in choosing a pet. We are eternally thankful to her for being so insightful. Janet is always available to us to answer any questions even 11 years later. We look forward to adding another Astra pup to our family in the future. We wouldn’t get our border collie from anyone or anywhere else!

Typical puppy farm, full of dogs living in cages, nothing special, intimidating breader, paid a lot of money, was told will get red border collie puppy but when arrived was given completely different puppy! Puppy was coughing and had to go stright to vet. We feel cheated. Do not trus Janet.
The most professional & knowledgeable breeder, in an ideal caring, homely setting - the best start to a pups life & socialised upbringing ready for its new home. So glad we found Janet & now have the most wonderful well balanced & healthy pup which enriches our lives.
Being an experienced owner and trainer for the last 15 years it was a great experience getting our new puppy from Janet. We have got exactly what we wanted, in terms of confirmation and attitude, with absolutely no pressure. A pleasant experience with lots of access to the puppies as they were growing and being able to match our requirements rather than choosing a pretty puppy (even though it was very pretty).
Do you research on Astra sheepdogs and Janet Beale before you even think of dealing with them. Take nothing for granted you are told and ask for evidence if possible. If your told what a pups parents can do don't believe it until you see it. It appears to be a pure profit making puppy farm. There are plenty of border collies out there bred for the right reasons and not for profit. Don't be bamboozled by the spiel from Janet. Again the only reason for my review is so people at least do a little research first and then decide if Astra are right for you. Thankyou
