I’ve been very impressed by Matt and his team. On time, clean working and I’m so delighted with my new sash windows. The difference in terms of warmth in my rooms, noise reduction and the overall appearance is brilliant. It’s fair to say I am absolutely delighted and have asked them to quote for further windows. Wish I’d done it years ago as they made it very straightforward.

I was looking for my old, draughty, dilapidated sash and casement windows to be renovated. I was blown away by the result. The windows are like new.. the draught proofing beyond what I thought possible and the although still single glazed, the noise reduction is incredible. The team from Matt Window Mate were professional, efficient and courteous. I highly recommend this excellent company.

Matt and his team were fantastic. From start to finish they were professional, courteous and tidy with meticulous attention to detail. They replaced an old single-glazed window with a brand new double-glazed unit in a traditional wooden frame. We couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use Matt and his team again!

We bought a Victorian mid-terraced house in a conservation area in 2015 which required a full refurbishment. One of the major tasks was replacing the ghastly 1980’s aluminium framed numbers with something that would take us all the way back to June 1900 - the year the house was built. We did a lot of research on timber sash & case windows before finally taking the leap. It’s not something you do on a whim; these things are not cheap. However, I like to look on them as a long-standing investment which shroud the house in a charm from a bye gone era. These things will last longer than I will if maintained properly. MWM provided a thoroughly detailed quotation and Matt himself responded swiftly to some technical queries I had. His engagement set him aside from the others; although not the “cheapest” (a rather derogatory term when talking about proper craftsmen if you ask me) he provided full details on the type of timber that would be used and why. He also ensured that things were measured up several times before manufacturing took place. In essence, Matt instilled a level of confidence I did not get from others. He’s clearly very passionate about what he does. Personal engagement counts for a lot in my book. They got started on the date they intended to and you just have to leave them to it. They are the experts - not us. The job took 5 days in all. That covered a 3-section bay window, a 4-section upper dormer and a small box-room. It included removal and disposal of the old, brand new boxes and sliding sashes with Simplex hinges, new facings and all woodwork painted to our requirements. The front elevation of the house has been utterly transformed. These guys are proper craftsmen. I cannot stress just how good they are. They are an absolute credit to the industry. I’m confident that Matt will get more work from us although you need to get in there early as he’s in such high demand. For good reason too.

When we decided to replace our windows we looked at several websites and contacted 3 companies. MWM impressed us from the word go because they responded to emails and were happy to discuss what we needed. We had initially planned to do the job in stages starting with the rear of the house but when we were able visit the home of a previous customer and see the quality of their work we decided to get the full house done at once and we are delighted with the results. Our previous windows were single glazed, the tops were out of alignment with the bottom halves and they had been painted so many times they could no longer be opened. The condensation was horrendous and mopping it up became an unwelcome daily chore. Matt and the two men who work with him were polite, respectful and completely trustworthy. They arrived on time every day and completed the job in stages as agreed with us. There’s no doubt the refurbishment of the old frames is a messy, dusty process but they worked methodically and hoovered frequently throughout the day leaving our home as clean as possible at the end of each day. The new windows not only look fabulous but work beautifully and we are confident the house will feel warmer this winter as a result of having this work done. We would recommend MWM without reservation to anyone who is looking for a quality restoration or replacement job on traditional sash windows. Tony and Eileen McLoughlin
