Had a great experience of making our first sculptures. The whole weekend was lovely- helped by a lovely sunny summers day. There was no rush to finish on either of the 2 days and wgen we back to do the glazing there was a lovely unhurried atmosphere. Would highly recommend the experience.

I really enjoyed a weekend course at The Phoenix Studio. It is a beautifully relaxed setting and James & Karin are great teachers. I would definitely go back.
Spent two days with James on a wire sculpture course, it was so good I wish I could have stayed longer. So often us old folk get overlooked, but not so with James. He was kindly attentive and helpful to us all equally, demonstrating skill, patience, enthusisam and a heart warming sense of humour that made the two days a pure joy to experience - his GF homemade flapjacks helped too!!! The location in a pretty and peaceful setting on the outskirts of Towersey didnt disappoint either. I shall definately go back again for another course, as he inspired confidence and creativity. I have attended many courses in my lifetime and I can honestly say James's style of delivery and care of his participants, is one of the best I have experienced!
Just returned form a 3 day course at West Dean run by James Ort. Fantastic!! James put in so much energy throughout, and guided 8 very keen students through various challenges so that we all achieved pieces we can be proud of. Highly recommend. Also would mention that all the people I have met on James' courses are great
