Master Waller is a teacher of unquestionable knowledge and experience. His classes and workshops are friendly, safe, inclusive and fun. The syllabus that he has created is structured, balanced and inter-connected. His teaching is clear, in-depth and incredibly practical. In the west, Tai Chi is often seen as a relaxed and gentle exercise. Newcastle Tai Chi teaches the importance of relaxation and gentleness in a devastatingly effective martial art. Tai Chi has saved me from serious injury and has increased my vitality and sense of awareness overall. It is very useful in terms of self-defense, allowing you to incapacitate someone without causing them unnecessary harm. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking for in-depth instruction in Tai Chi for health and/or martial arts. Master Waller is an incredible teacher who has great knowledge, skill and wisdom. His teaching style is highly effective allowing the student to advance at their own pace. If you are seeking something beyond what the 'mainstream' martial arts classes have to offer, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

I have been attending the Newcastle Tai Chi school for almost 7 years now. The class is very welcoming and friendly. Master Waller has an in depth knowledge of the art and is willing to share it with his students. He really is a great teacher. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in martial arts to try this school!

I discovered Newcastle Tai Chi via a web search. After reading the web site I called in for an introductory class. Everybody was friendly and welcoming from beginners to advanced students. The syllabus is clear and well structured, where you can progress at your own pace. As well as classes there are also workshops and boot camps, which I can recommend. I have found that there is more on offer that just a weekly class.

When I first came to a Newcastle Tai Chi training session it was clear that what was on offer was the real thing. A well structured syllabus, with many layers of learning and experience to work through with an exceptionally well qualified instructor and a welcoming group of students. As an older student (49) I was not sure if I would 'keep up' with the others, I shouldn't have worried, I have been able to progress at a pace that suits me, and enjoy learning new skills every week. Have no doubt, this is an extremely powerful style of Martial Art, and it will suit women and men of all ages.
