Honestly, this is one of the best prisons ever... btw, it was featured on National Geographic's Breakout Series... It was a great episode.

Beautiful place named after Beetlejuice Zephalod Hurst (the third) it originally started life as a park. Hence the name ParkHurst. It only took me 30 minutes to check in. The wings are not very beautifully named - just lettered A to E. Amenities are slightly above average. And they even had their own hospital on site at one point. The rooms are what I would call \industrial\ and often without a decent view. Although the local wildlife does seem to come alive at a night time which can make for some pleasant evenings if that's your thing. Food seems to be mass produced and when I ask for the a La carté menu i was greeted with blank stares. The staff seem over worked and under paid but don't let this put you off. They will do anything to keep you there. So much so they extended my stay to a total of 10 years and I all I did was keep some company in my room and get drunk. The one down side of this place is that the sheets are torn often, and razor blades and toothbrushes all seem to be either broken and melted or missing. Some people seem to enjoy the stay here though and often return but each to their own I suppose. All in all its an acquired taste but for the isle of wight it's not half bad. I did have a great time however. The only down side now is when I pass wind I can give myself a round of applause. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
