Fabulous place to visit all year round. Lots of History! The walk around Lord Byron's house in and out are a must! There's plenty of space to enjoy a picnic and to relax. There's lots of different entertainment on through the year( when there's no Covid) A definite must.

Walked to Newstead Abbey from Mansfield and expected everything to be closed. We were able to access the gardens, which are beautiful, even in Winter. Very impressed that toilets were open, as do many places serve drinks but have no facilities open.
Always pretty. So quiet. And the toilets were open it was my halfway point on a 14 mile walk so was very happy to be able to have a rest and a wee after lunch before heading off again.
We walked around the lake and admired the hall. Everything was closed because Christmas day but we really enjoyed the walk and going round to the boat house. When the grounds are open it's a very nice place to visit and a nice coffee shop too only draw back is that it's 6 to park and would be better if it was 3
Beautiful Abbey grounds and gardens,lots of trails to explore. The little shop searves great coffee and snacks to take away.
