AN OLD BUILDING LIKE THE CINEMA. At one time, the two arch windows and were the clock was used to have metal bars across to stop pigeons and other birds nesting. The bars were painted maroon. Now the two arch windows and were clock was is boarded up and painted daffodil yellow with the two extensions eitherside, also painted daffodil yellow to match. Why modetnise such an old building that looks almost gothic.

I came here with my partner to watch 'Last Christmas'. The film itself was your average Christmas film. There is a ticket collection machine if you order your tickets online. The price was reasonable, around 6 each. There is a very small shop which you pass to go to the screen but I didn't buy anything. The staff were friendly and the toilets were in good condition. The cinema appearance is more retro than modern but this isn't a bad thing. The seats were slightly odd but comfortable. If I'm in Newton Abbott I will likely come here again.

I watched a film here, now for those who don't know what a film is: let me explain. Film, also called movie, motion picture or moving picture, is a visual art-form used to simulate experiences that communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere through the use of moving images. These images are generally accompanied by sound, and more rarely, other sensory stimulations.[1] The word "cinema", short for cinematography, is often used to refer to filmmaking and the film industry, and to the art form that is the result of it. The moving images of a film are created by photographing actual scenes with a motion-picture camera, by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques, by means of CGI and computer animation, or by a combination of some or all of these techniques, and other visual effects. Traditionally, films were recorded onto celluloid film stock through a photochemical process and then shown through a movie projector onto a large screen. Contemporary films are often fully digital through the entire process of production, distribution, and exhibition, while films recorded in a photochemical form traditionally included an analogous optical soundtrack (a graphic recording of the spoken words, music and other sounds that accompany the images which runs along a portion of the film exclusively reserved for it, and is not projected).

Great little cinema. But needs updating, screen quality not as good as modern cinemas. But you do get more room in your seats than most cinemas. Will use again as I prefer to have more leg room than I do to cramped in.

Reasonable prices for cinema tickets, decent seating. Be careful of going on the 2 nights a week that they subtitle the movies for the hearing impaired. Unless you're hearing impaired in which case this is a cool feature. Be nice if the staff told people this as they sold the tickets though. Ruined a film for me.
