Had a days course with mr Bennet and I can honestly say I was completely blown away by the man and his work! I would recommend him to anyone I will be going back very soon!

A perfect day spent with Howard Bennett - history, art and science all rolled into producing a beautifully mounted jay. The skill and care involved is astounding, and so much knowledge that takes years to acquire, passed on with such generosity. Having an interest in birds and photography, I'm in awe of the whole process and shall never view taxidermy in the same way again, and the presentation of the mounts. Mr Bennett recently taxidermied a tawny owl that I had found on the roadside and we had it put in a case - it is so sensitively prepared and the groundwork which is the decoration on the floor, is perfect. I am so please I had it done - there is so much beauty in it. I hope to return to learn more. Thanks Mr Bennett.
Howard Bennett is without doubt one of the best Taxidermists working today. His attention to detail in all aspects of his work is spot on, bringing to life his subject. I have several pieces of his work both cased and mounted, Howard has also restored pieces for me that I had purchased elsewhere. A real professional and an Artist in the Craft of Taxidermy.

Have always loved Taxidermy and decided to have a one to one day with Mr Bennett, I chose to try and taxidermy a Jay. I arrived at 8am and Mr Bennett had 3 jays laid out on the work bench one for me and two for him so he could go through step by step the stages that needed to be done to achieve the final result. He said it would take as long as was needed and when I did not quite understand a stage he would go through this again on the second bird. Before i knew it was 4.30pm and I had finally finished my jay! which Mr Bennett then mounted on a branch for me. It was an amazing day and I have great admiration for him the skill and patience which is needed is incredible. Mr Bennetts wife Jenny kept us lubricated with a constant supply of tea/coffee and lunch was also provided. I have also brought pieces of taxidermy from Mr Bennett ranging from a beautiful stags head which I watched him do on my times popping in to boxing hares and more which are greatly admired by visitors to my house. I would recommend a day with Mr Bennett if you are interested having a go, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for an unforgettable day. Gemma
