Great sailing club
Great sailing club with remarkable history.
After moving up to Nottingham from London I needed a new sailing club.The surrounding clubs are Nottingham SC and Rutland. I've been racing around the UK so familiar with Rutland water so I was drawn to that but found It like a \Pit Stop Club\, Rutland is a well run and organized however un-like TVSC it is an un-friendly club. I found that Trent valley Sailing Club is a great friendly club set beside a large canel, the race area is flat water that is great for close class and handicap racing, The view from the club house stretches down the river covering the course, making it very easy to sit at the self-serve bar and watch others race on them days its just abit too windy. Getting to the club house is... different, you start by heading though a built up area then suddenly everything disappears and your driving down a newly tarmacked single lane ... though a farm fields ( there is a concrete road its not mud) then you arrive at this 18th century club house on stilts the club is surrounded by perfect grass. Classes at the club vary however due to it being based on a canel it wouldn't be wise to rock up with a 49er or an intl moth. the clubs strongest fleets are laser Std rigs, merlin rockets etc. Overall the club is great for Adv racers who like close racing but also beginners who like to plod around.
