We have been coming to the Old Original for over 25 years and clearly have been impressed always taking friends to sample their great steaks, however we went before lockdown and had a very disapointing steak and I returned it because it was very poor quality. Despite this and being loyal customers we went last week for our wedding anniversary and what a let down it was. We were shown to our table and the drinks arrived quickly and we ordered. We waited for our starters patiently and then they brought the main course. When I asked about our starters they apologised and offered to keep our main courses warm. This we declined as it would mean eating food that was 20 or so minutes old. We therefore decided to skip starters and have our main. I had Sirloin Steak which I ordered Medium Rare, when I cut into it it was raw inside. and I know my steaks. This had to be taken away and cooked. The chips are now like oven chips when they used to be home made which spoils it and the veg. was soggy and microwaved, on top of all this the attitude of the young waitress was dreadful. Despite all this there was no offer of a drink or anything. I am sorry to say that after going for so many years we will not go again or recommend to anyone as standards have dropped badly.

Lovely pub with excellent food, can't fault the menu choices and excellent value for money set menu's. Nice and friendly welcome. Staff very attentive at looking after customers.

Family shared my birthday last night had a wonderful time. Food plentyfull and delicious. Really is Old and Original just what an English pub should be, what's also great is the fact that there is no phone signal or internet connection so people have to talk to each other so it can be a little noisy but actually adds to the atmosphere.
