Having just finished two years of various surgeries & laser treatments to correct my lifetime of extremely poor eyesight Optimax has now given me the ability to continue my life with clear vision without the need of glasses- a Godsend. Information given before any treatment has always been clear and easily understood and at no time did I ever feel under pressure to proceed with those treatments. The staff (both medical and clerical) are very friendly, polite and efficient, putting you at your ease, with appointment times prompt, no unnecessary waiting. Aftercare is thorough and un-rushed, I was not discharged from their care until they and I were completely happy with my outcome. All in all I am totally confident in recommending Optimax and the Newton Abbot branch to anyone considering the need for eye surgery.

I had laser eye surgery over a year ago at Newton Abbot and couldn't be happier with the treatment i received. All of the staff at the clinic are friendly and helpful and the surgeon was great, he answered any worries I had and made me feel very relaxed. They are not in a rush to discharge you after the three month check up, they kept seeing me for a year after my surgery and that was only due to a slight sensitivity. Brilliant aftercare service. Would definitely recommend.

I was very impressed with the service, care and consideration. The risks were outlined in full due to my low corneal thickness and severe prescription whereas another rival company completely glossed over the risks (not necessarily the near term risks but the risks in old age of thinning corneas to the legal limits in my particular circumstance). In the end decided not to go ahead but to wait and see if more suitable treatments for my circumstances are available via Optimax in the near future.

I had a terrible experience at this branch of Optimax. I paid for and was given an appointment for lens replacement surgery to my right eye. I was very anxious about the surgery following the disclaimers one must agree to prior to surgery. I was booked in, my eye dilated and consulted with the surgeon when they discovered they did not have the correct lens in stock to carry out the procedure. This sort of cock up is inexcusable but Optimax have not been particularly apologetic and have shown a distinct lack of care about resolving things preferring to refund my money and cancelling future treatment. Be very wary if undergoing this type of surgery especially if the lens is not generally stocked
