A really wonderful selection of spots to sit and take a dip in the river. You can have a swim and there's also shallow areas to wade into, lots of people with inflatables to lay on. Mid morning is quieter and got a bit busier in the afternoon. So happy we found this spot!

Nice natural place to swim. Although in much need of some tlc. Safe places to climb in and out, weed clearing and bins.
The water is nice and pool and the grass is green. All you could ask for on a hot summers day.
Beautiful and mostly secret swimming spot, site of an old outdoor swimming pool, just off the River Thames (Isis) near Hertford College Boat Club. You can access it from the towpath either from the north opposite the Head of the River pub or from the south off Donnington Bridge on Weirs Lane. If coming from the south, turn left into the trees before you get to the double hump-back bridges; if coming from the north, turn right after the two bridges, just past Hertford College Boat Club. It's a wonderful, refreshing spot for a dip on a cold day. There's also a picnic bench and plenty of space to sunbathe.
