Since registering (having moved to Hemel in 2019) I've been about 3-4 times and it’s been a breath fresh air. Prior to this, although I had moved, I’d been with my previous Drs surgery my entire life. The Receptionists at my previous London Drs are awful: rude, unhelpful and just awful! The Drs were generally ok. Parkwood Receptionists are lovely, it’s the first thing I noticed, no chip on their shoulder. Yes, it must be a stressy job but there is a way you go about things. Parkwood has been nothing but warm polite and helpful. All of the Drs and Nurses I have seen have all been nice, I've had nothing but great experiences and so happy I'm with them now!

I was with this surgery for circa 5 years. A mixed experience. Positives: I saw some good doctors/nurses- I had a reversibility test with a nurse- she was professional and efficient. Reception team were good and usually fairly friendly. Dr Stier seemed to be the most thorough doctor/gave confidence in her medical judgement. It's probably a surgery that would work better for the elderly or those that don't work during the week. Negatives: Quite an old fashioned surgery. I met with a fairly rude Dr Fernandes- thankfully only the once! He was dismissive followed by rude. I wouldn't recommend seeing him if it's anything particularly personal. Dr Solomon was nice enough, but it often felt like rather than admit if he didn't know what the issue was... he would instead feel the need to try to give any explanation. Hours- very limited surgery hours when compared with other surgeries, and much slower than other surgeries to embrace technology- this leads to quite an old fashioned experience whereby letters have to be picked up by hand etc within very set hours. Also, an interesting callback system- you'll wait a week to be given a timeslot of several hours to expect a call (always during the working day), the call will come... and if you don't pick it up during the first few rings... you've missed your chance and it's back to square one! I did once write a complaint around this, but the response was fairly defensive. I'm now at a different surgery and the team that I've seen at the new surgery instill more confidence in their expertise/medical knowledge, have more flexible surgery hours, more punctual, and are far more advanced with the technology they use.

The receptionist don't know how to answer the phone . Urgent. And it takes over 50mins before the phone even rings and then they hang up on you.
