Taste of Bengal (Penrith)- 4/5 - whilst in the Lakes we needed something spicy and found this Bangladeshi restaurant (although serving Indian and Pakistani cuisine). We ordered sheek kebabs, chicken tikka, chicken rogan josh and lamb jalfrezi. All the dishes were good but were sweetened with either tomatoes, yoghurt or sugar to be palatable for the locals. The restaurant made an effort to add extra chillies in the jalfrezi, which added heat but also the smell and flavour of birds eye chillies. The decor is what you would expect of a deshi restaurant, with red carpets, tablecloth and walls with folk style paintings. The service was great and the waiter offered for the next visit to call ahead and they would make a special menu for us considering that the Bangladeshi food in the commercial world is very different to the authentic cooking. #bangladeshifood #lambjalfrezi #fuzzbearfood

5 of us are on holiday and have just had an amazing meal. We all had different dishes. Each one was just brilliant. We had starters and mains. Very authentic. Brilliant service too. We will definitely be back when we holiday again in this area. Mrs P Gordon

Excellent curry. I arrived just past 5pm and the solo front man was run off his feet with the phone ringing and people walking in! Takeaway food was excellent. Curry was hot and chicken was big. Would recommend.

Got a delicious takeaway from here recently and it was so good. Tender chicken and spicy sauce with all the condiments. Definitely worth a visit.
