Spoke to Ryan at 3DTek at length after lots of research about my options and decided on a Heavy Mill for milling aluminium. Couldn't be happier with the customer service and the product is unbeatable for the price.

So after much deliberation I decided to take the plunge and purchase a CNC router mainly for hobby uses but also to see if I can turn that hobby into a bit of extra cash. After a lot of looking around and many hours searching I decided on the 3DTEK XYZ - mainly driven by the excellent price but also after seeing 3DTEK at Makers Central and being impressed with the quality of the components and the knowledge of the 3DTEK team. The kit arrived promptly and I embarked upon unpacking it and trying to figure out what was what. The instructions which are available on their website were nice and clear but you do need to take your time and not rush things - best to read through each step and watch the animations a few times and then tackle that specific element rather than going at it like a bull in a china shop and ripping all the packets open (although it is tempting). In terms of the build and being a mechanically minded person the biggest fear I had was the electronics/software side of things however it couldn't have been simpler - just remember to take your time and read, read, read then do. The net result is a machine with brilliant capacity and capability that is already earning money a week after getting it up and running. There is still a lot to learn on my CNC journey however the machine is great and well worth the investment.

I am building a CNC machine and was looking for a more up-to-date control system, All the one's I had found used old tech such as a Serial cable, which also meant you had to have an old clunky PC in tow. I stumbled across the Masso control system, Modern, Blue tooth connection, wires directly to closed loop stepper motors, comes with its own built in CAD software, no need to by all the other bells and whistles, an all in one cutting edge CNC control system. As this is an Australian product the import duty would have been prohibitive, so I found this UK supplier, they were excellent, on the ball and answered all my questions without any hesitation. I would thoroughly recommend 3DTek as your UK supplier for CNC needs and check out the future of CNC machining Masso. Kind Regards Ian.
