Well just come out of the Fitz William hospital in Peterborough after a total left knee replacement and whilst I’m as sore as hell, the staff at the hospital were the absolute best and Mr Clifton has done a stirling job getting my Visionaire joint in. No easy task by the sounds of it as my leg has only had 45 degrees bend in it and had been this way for 30 years due to an accident. All the way through the process everyone was very approachable, honest and upfront with any information I’d requested. An outstanding surgeon at an outstanding hospital....what a team.

I had a right knee replacement in September 2015. Mr Clifton described what would happen. He was kind anbd approachable and put me at ease. On the day of the surgery I was seen by the anaesthetist who went into great detail about what way he would be doing. I asked him if I could change my mind about having general anaesthetic and have an epidural. He said that the recovery time could be better for me and described the procedure, also ensuring I was aware of what I might hear! As I was being prepped for the epidural and knee replacement all staff were efficient, whilst at the same time joking with me to put me at ease. The aftercare I received was very good and last, but certainly not least, the hospital food was fantastic. I don't know why it has taken me so long to leave a review but if anyone is considering the Fitzwilliam, it's a great place to stay if you need surgery. Sorry, just one complaint which seems to be a problem with every other hospital I've attended. When you've been discharged by your consultant, why does it take so long for someone to appear with your medication, letter, etc? Hours! Why? Surely someone needs your room?
