John taught my son between the ages of 6 and 18. He is a brilliant teacher, inspiring but also rigorous and thorough. He is adept at managing the hard work and application needed to pass exams, but also makes the lessons into an enjoyable experience for the pupil. He has given my son a lasting love of music and I can think of no higher praise for a music teacher. John is a delightful person, reliable and hard working. I would recommend him unhesitatingly as a piano teacher.

It is a genuine delight to work with John. His enhusiasm and love of music is infectious and he brings out the very best in both young and older students. He is not only a sensitive and very accomplished accompanist, his teaching skills are consummate. The most reluctant child cannot resist his music making magic wand. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a first rate teacher of piano, music theory and singing.
John has been teaching me for the past few years. He's a great combination of a passionate musician, a patient teacher and a wonderful personality with broad interests. He's admirably understanding of the challenges that adults have learning the piano this late in life. Nothing replaces self-motivation but John certainly helps a great deal!
