We booked online 4 days in advance, on arrival we were told we could not enter until people leave, this was because they had the maximum amount of people skating. This took us by surprise due to the fact we had pre booked . Once we got skating we had a lovely time. Yes the venue is looking tired , but this did not affect our time there . I do think the penguin aids hire is expensive at an extra 6 , but they are well worth it for the younger children.

Had a great time! Not many people either.
First time back since March. Previously we have been really impressed by Planet Ice Gosport. However, today I am so disappointed. They have lots of signs with instructions regarding Convid19. It is a shame that the staff seem to feel they are above the instructions they are advising other to take. No one member of staff wearing PPE. Whilst I understand the issue whilst on the ice. Staff walking around in areas of restricted space, not a mask in sight. They also are not asking/enforcing customers not skating to put on masks. To make things worst, they have shut one side of the spectator side off so "management" can go back and forth (with no PPE) and customers are bunched up with access to only one side of the rinks spectator area available. I do appreciate staff wanting to be safe but a as long as we are alright, stuff the paying customers is indicative of so many people in the UK. As this is not going away anytime soon, businesses that need general public support to run, really need to take as much care for the safety of their customers as they are their staff. And I also appreciate that wearing a mask is an uncomfortable nuisance, especially when it does little to stop the wearer contacting the virus. It does markedly reduce the risk of spread and whilst we seem to have more than our fair share of selfish people in the UK, they should be thinking that if we all wore masks when outside of our own properties, this blight of a virus may end much sooner than it will by ignorance and an I am alright jack and I am not wearing a mask coz I am special (only in stupidity and selfishness. So it is all the more important that businesses like Planet ice strictly enforce the instructions they have bothered to put up. Especially amongst their own staff, who should be setting an example.
Very poor system of letting people in we had to que for over half an hour no social distancing inside or out. I think when you book you should be given a time slot. Cafe looked very run down as did the whole place didn't look clean glad my grandson had his own boots.
Understandably this is a difficult time to operate a business of this kind. That difficulty does not excuse the terrible methodology adopted by Planet Ice in how to operate. They allow 200 people to book for a session, then only allow just less than 100 in, the remainder are required to wait and enter on a 'one in, one out' policy. If there is only 100 skater allowed in, then why take payment for 200 people. If the first 100 decide to stay for 3 hours, then the remaining 100 people are left waiting outside with no certainty they'll even gain admittance. In our case, having arrived at 11:20 for the 10:15 to 15:00 session, we were obliged to wait in the rain until 12:15 to get in. The poor staff who've had this decision thrust upon them are faultless.
Had a brilliant experience with my girlfriend here the other day. Lovely friendly staff that are helpful in terms of asking them for advice. The hired ice skates are alright however I made the mistake of getting a smaller pair and wound up with a blister. So my advice is get skates a bit bigger and wear extra socks.
Pretty run down and all the skates we hired were falling apart. Nice and quiet though due to covid limitations I guess so we had plenty of room on the ice.
As always really good always enjoy staff really nice and friendly we go every wednesday and have a good time
