So I was , WAS a student here less than a year ago but I decided to leave because of the ignorance that teachers give us students so then I decided to move to the much better school of carter community school which has a better ofsted report makes better progress and in my opinion is a much better school but poole high has been telling that they're the best school in Poole but no so sending your child here is a bad mistake

If you want your kid to be happy, don't send them here. This school sent me to isolation for having slightly green hair (i had dyed it blue for the summer and due to the ph of my hair some green showed though the brown). I have never once felt safe in this school. As a student i can tell you that in year 7 i loved it however the older you get, the more aware you become. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing teachers however everyone from the SLT team have never once done any good for me. I am a high/average achieving student yet i am made to feel awful as im not achieving grade 9's. This school has no regards for mental health, i know many people who have been turned away when they have asked for help. When i suffered badly from anaemia, i was turned away from the medical room. Overall results arent bad but i am being taught my gcse physics by a trainee teacher so i might fail.

Ok so I have read the reviews ..i am a parent of a child now in year 8, when I applied for secondary school choices I admit I was concerned about her going to Poole HIGH , it did have a dreadful repution and was not viewed highly by Ofted , BUT, the current head, Mr Grey has turned the school around, yes it has strict rules but so it should..im afraid life is not fair..if you get a job you need to turn up everyday on time..not wander in when you please..you will have responsibilities (homework and getting it in on time is yours at present) and as for taking your phone off you ..i am not allowed to use mine in work time .so abide by the rules or yes..you may get a detention..in the real world you may loose your job!! Anyway I am extremly pleased with the opportunities afforded to my child so far and the support given by the school in any problem my child has encountered. If you 're prepared to work hard and make the most of school life this is the school for you and you will be well rewarded. If you really can't be bothered, I suggest change schools or don't apply. As for Ofstead reports I'm afraid they are a snap shot in time..exam.results (which Poole High has achieved very well in) are the real result of the school ..

I am a student in year 8 and I know exactly what this school is like. This school is awful sure most students here have high grades but there all bullies and the worst thing is that nobody does anything about it. my bm was bullied here for the hole of year 7 and she would cry everyday get hurt everyday and the only thing that the teachers would say was don't do it again and they never took this or any situation serious. her parents however took this very serious and at the beginning of the summer holidays her family moved were my bm decided to committee suicide because of poole high school. So as u have seen the staff wont do anything about it so DONT send ur children here unless u want them to committee suicide and most of the ''well behaved'' will bully ur special child.

I just felt the need to warn anyone thinking of sending their children to this school that this place handles bullying incredibly poorly. Basically, most bullying cases are handled by... lets call him Mr. X. Which seems fine on it's own, if Mr. X didn't let his high preforming students get away with so much. I'll list the things ONE person got away with multiple times during the four years we were there because 'he was having a bad day'; Repeated constant harassment. Aggravated assault. Random assault. Stalking other students with the intent to assault said student. Assault with intent to harm. Assault with weapon. Substance abuse on school grounds. Storming out of class almost every day. Constant swearing and disrespect towards members of staff. Iv'e done a background check an the person and he has no disability or trauma that would warrant leniency for his actions, in fact he openly mocks people with metal disability's. Now imagine about 30 other people who act the same way, but are immune to any punishment just like him for no reason. Whats even worse is that if you end up lashing out agents these people after years of torment, you get punished and they get away scot-free! Not to say that there aren't any teachers that will punish both students for what they have done, but they are so far and few between that they don't normally have any effect on the matter. Things might change, but don't hold your breath.
