Having an Independent Midwife is 100% the way forward when pregnant, it’s something I didn’t even know was around until Marleen introduced me to it. From the start Marleen was caring, friendly, supportive and always on hand for my questions, queries and anxieties. No question I had was silly and I was listened too - she always said to me I have a choice, I have options, my opinion counts - I felt truly listened too and heard. She held my hand and offered me so much support throughout. My first birth experience was quite traumatic for me and Marleen knew this - she went out of her way to make my experience this time absolutely incredible and it’s a day I long to go back to. My daughters birth was a dream and it’s because of Marleen. Her kindness and support didn’t stop there. She was there for daily home visits after, breast feeding support and emotional support too. My husband and I couldn’t have done this without her and we are forever grateful. If you are wondering whether to have an independent midwife - stop wondering and go for it - it will be the best decision for your family and pregnancy that you make. Thank you so much Marleen. Marleen was one of the midwives at my home birth and was amazing. Such a calming and attentive presence who always had my choices and comfort as her top priority. I would recommend her to anyone and I believe having a private midwife gave both me and my baby the best possible start into motherhood. My pregnancy was very straightforward, my birth far exceeded my expectations, recovery was unbelievably quick, and breastfeeding was established easily. I know some of this is luck or genetics but I also think a lot of it can be put down to having such personalised and attentive care. If you can hire Marleen I highly recommend it :D
To anyone considering having Marleen as your independent midwife - do it! I promise it will be the best decision you ever make. Marleen is amazing. Right from my first meeting with her I felt completely at ease. She is warm, empathetic, kind, caring and so passionate about enabling women to make informed choices and have the best possible pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience. The benefits of having independent midwives are far greater than I could have imagined. It is amazing to be able to build a bond with your midwife and know that when the time comes, that person that you have come to know and trust completely will arrive to look after you. When Marleen arrived when I was in labour, I felt such a huge sense of relief. She has the ability to remove your worries and put your mind at ease. The support from Marleen throughout the pre-natal and post-natal periods was also incredible. It was such a huge weight off my mind just knowing that she was only ever at the end of the phone. With Marleen as your independent midwife, you will be receiving the very best care around and you will be giving yourself, your family and your new baby the very best chance at a happy, relaxed and positive birth experience. For me that was priceless and I’ll always be so grateful to Marleen for everything that she has done for us.
I cannot recommend Marleen and 'With Woman Midwifery' enough. Without Marleen I would not have had the courage to fight for the path I believed best in terms of delivery. Marleen was invaluable; an excellent advocate and tremendously empowering through her knowledge and support. The importance of having a midwife who takes the time to get to know you and understands not only what you need but who you are as a person cannot be stressed enough. It makes for a happy relaxed pregnancy and a successful delivery to have a someone like Marleen at your side. I am thankful that it was Marleen I met at the beginning of my pregnancy and would absolutely recommend this service.
Marleen has been absolutely fantastic. She was my 2nd midwife at the birth of my baby and also saw us antenatally. She made my older daughter feel part of the appointment and the birth which she absolutely loved. She is still talking about „lovely Marleen the midwife“ everyday. Even our „slightly“ crazy collie liked Marleen instantly! I think she is most like the only person who has ever made it into our house without beeing greeted by the song of his people. Marleen is very calm,kind and thorough. I felt safe, listened to and very well cared for. If you are considering Marleen as your Independent midwife I would highly recommend booking with her at any point in your pregnancy. Having an independent midwife was fantastic, especially in these current times. It meant both my husband and my daughter could be part of our journey which made us an even closer family. I also believe having been able to be part of pregnancy appointments and especially birth has allowed my older daughter to form a very special bond with her sister already.
